Five Foolproof Ways To Drink More Water

There are endless benefits to drinking more water; it flushes out toxins, increases brain power and helps weight management, yet somehow we can still never find the time. With our busy schedules and penchant for a coffee or five, reaching our daily water intake goal can be difficult. Which is why we’ve devised a few tips and tricks to help keep you hydrated in the new year. 

To set a goal for how much water you want to drink, you first need to work out how much water you need for your age, weight, sex and lifestyle. Generally speaking the average woman needs 1500ml of water a day (3 Rippl bottles) and the average man 2000ml (4 Rippl bottles). 

This does, however, fluctuate based on your climate and activity level, so for a more precise calculation, you can multiply your weight by ⅔ then add 350ml for every 30 minutes of exercise you complete.

A Water Bottle

Drinking games 

If you are still having difficulty reaching your target, try making it more fun. Set yourself simple, achievable goals. 

  • Aim to take a gulp at every ad break or a sip at the end of every chapter of your book. 
  • Add lots of ice to your drinks or smoothies to sneak in some hydration. 
  • Match every coffee or tea with a glass of water. 
  • Eat more spicy food so you’ll be running to the tap to fill up your bottle. 
  • Set alarms and mental triggers to remind you.
